Issue:
Auto-upgrades to Notes 14.5.1 from Notes 12.0.2, Notes 14.0.x, and Notes 14.5.0.x dropping the integrated Sametime component, widget components, etc during an upgrade. Upgrade shows successful, but components missing.
Cause:
The TEMP folder may not be cleaned up by a MS Windows after install, and the previous installers/upgrades would clean it up/out when starting the upgrade. The Notes 14.5.1 installer does not do that anymore. An old rcpInstallerTemp.properties can improperly instruct the setup to remove the optional components.
Please note the TEMP location may not be the same MS domain user account that the Notes client uses. The file being mistakenly read is the temp folder used by the executing account of the upgrade. (e.g. SYSTEM or the corporate system account used for upgrades).
Remediation:
Update any script running the upgrade to delete the rcpInstallerTemp.properties field before running the 14.5.1 installer. See HCL KP article KB0132505.
